[00:00:05] God has been busy, man. It is so good to be sharing what he's been doing and that he actually used me.
[00:00:15] And the miracle of the story, that I actually obeyed.
[00:00:20] Yeah.
[00:00:22] So the cool thing is, is that I did obey and I followed his voice after a year and a half of fighting.
[00:00:32] So a year and a half ago, I bought a set of really, really nice headphones. And when you're in broadcasting, in radio, you want to have a good set. Well, I splurged on myself a year and a half ago, and I was so excited about these headphones.
[00:00:46] But every single time that I would go to open them, the Lord would tell me no.
[00:00:53] And I didn't understand why. I couldn't even take the shrink wrap off. I would just say, I'll just take the shrink wrap off just to hold them in my hands, just to look at him. No, do open those.
[00:01:05] I'm like, but. But why?
[00:01:08] Because those are not your headphones.
[00:01:11] Yes, they are. I just bought them. I love them. I'm excited about using them. The quality is going to be pristine. It's like, no, those are not your headphones. You're going to give them to Jacob.
[00:01:24] Like, Jacob.
[00:01:27] Why does Jacob need a set of really nice headphones?
[00:01:32] I don't think he needs headphones. Why would he need these headph.
[00:01:36] I mean, that's gonna seem really weird if I give him headphones. He's like, great, thanks. And I'm thinking, and I'll probably think, you know, all the.
[00:01:44] The battles in your brain of. No, no, no, no, no, no. I'm not hearing from God. God, you had this messed up. You'll change your mind later.
[00:01:52] I'll open them later.
[00:01:54] Well, for a year and a half, these are Jacobs. I even got a hold of Jacob several months ago. I said, hey, what's your mailing address?
[00:02:03] And I never sent them.
[00:02:05] Well, I was going to.
[00:02:07] Couple of days, going to another state to work.
[00:02:12] And as I'm walking out the door, I see the headphones in shrink wrap. And the Lord says, I want you to take those to Jacob. I'm like, I don't even know where Jacob lives. I met him three years ago when I was in North Carolina for a work meeting.
[00:02:28] But I know he is back in his home state. I don't know where that's at. So I looked it up.
[00:02:35] I found that address, and I googled it, and guess what? What?
[00:02:40] 53 minutes away from where I was going to be in this other State.
[00:02:46] Fine.
[00:02:48] Having this fight with the Lord. Fine. If I just get you off my back, I will give these to him.
[00:02:56] So I did. I put him in a. A gift bag and had him in my car. And last night I texted him, I said, hey, Jacob, you going to be home tomorrow afternoon?
[00:03:07] He's like, yeah, why?
[00:03:11] I' talk to him for three years. And when I talked to him three years ago, it was like a 15, 20 minute conversation. So I don't really know him, but he's like, yeah, come on over. It's like, okay, yeah, I just wanted to come over and say hi, whatever. So I show up and we have a great conversation for about an hour or so.
[00:03:32] I said, okay, Jacob, I have a confession to make.
[00:03:36] I have a gift for you.
[00:03:39] And I didn't want to give this gift to you because I bought it for myself a year and a half ago.
[00:03:47] And it's really nice.
[00:03:50] I said, but when I give it to you as this gift, I fought the Lord on it. You can do whatever you want with it. If you don't need it, sell it, give it away.
[00:04:00] It's yours. It's a gift. It's totally yours. He goes, okay. He's so confused. He has no idea.
[00:04:07] So he opened up the package and he pulled this box headphones out.
[00:04:15] And he's in shock. First of all, he's like, are these what I think they are? I'm like, yes, they are.
[00:04:23] And he just sat back and he looked at me.
[00:04:29] He said, I gotta tell you a story.
[00:04:32] I'm like, oh, here we go. And this is where it gets really good.
[00:04:36] This is gonna be a God story.
[00:04:38] All right, lay it on me.
[00:04:41] So he proceeds to tell me that a year and a half ago had some really nice headphones and he was wearing them on vacation and they broke.
[00:04:55] And for the last year and a half, he and his dad have been fixing them, finagling, do it yourself, soldering tape, whatever, just so they're workable for him.
[00:05:08] And they're to the point that they can't fix them anymore. And it's just these little wires across the top of his head holding the earphones on his ears.
[00:05:18] And he said it was to the point I was gonna go have to go buy some other headphones.
[00:05:26] But God, God had a different plan For a year and a half.
[00:05:32] If I wouldn't have listened, he wouldn't have got the answer.
[00:05:40] But what was so amazing is that the Lord showed me that I can hear from him again, that my obedience matters.
[00:05:49] That when I do ob Lives can be changed, faith can be increased. My faith is increased. His faith was increased because he's been struggling with about his job, about his work, his ministry, wondering what the Lord wants? Why is it not working?
[00:06:08] How long am I supposed to wait? You know, just all the wonderings about life.
[00:06:12] And this increased his faith so much. I said, jacob, God is showing you that if he can take care of headphones for you to have somebody drive an entire state over to the middle of nowhere to give you headphones that you've needed, that he is going to take care of your job and your ministry and income and all that. He's got your back. He's got you covered.
[00:06:40] And Jeremiah 29:11 is that verse that's just over his life.
[00:06:46] For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you, not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.
[00:06:58] And God's so good says that goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life.
[00:07:07] That follow means overtake you, hunt you down his mercy and grace.
[00:07:16] Surely goodness and mercy will follow you, hunt you down, overtake you all the days of your life. And you can't do anything about it. God was setting him up for a blessing and setting me up for a blessing and giving that for a year and a half.
[00:07:31] So I know that God's working things out on your behalf too.
[00:07:36] Stand strong in the faith. Don't move off of the promises and truth that God has spoken to your heart, because he will follow through.
